Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Process-Based Therapy, and Chronic

October 18th & 25th, 2024

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Process-Based Therapy, and Chronic

Join Bespoke Mental Health Canada on Friday October 18 and 25 at 9.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. (PT), 12.00 p.m.- 3.30 p.m. (ET) for full day workshop delivered by Dr Lance McCracken on ACT, Process-Based Therapy and Chronic Pain.

Can’t attend on that date? Just book to watch it ‘on-demand’ at a time that suits you. Available to watch for one year from event (i.e., until Oct 25, 2025).

The workshop will briefly look at ACT as an evidence-based approach that is both generally applicable, and has particular support in the treatment of chronic pain. The main point for most of the workshop is for participants to gain knowledge, learn theory and principles, and develop a set of skills that can be used in practice. ACT is inherently a prototype “process-based” therapy. This workshop will define what this means and help participants develop ways to do this with the facets of psychological flexibility as the base.

Bespoke Mental Health Canada is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Participants who complete this workshop (either live or on-demand) are eligible to receive 6 CE credits.

Location: Virtual, Zoom
Contact Phone Number: (416) 597-3422
Contact E-Mail: conferences@uhn.ca
Event Link: https://events.myconferencesuite.com/PsychedelicMedicine/

Please join us for this exciting two-day virtual conference to explore the emerging paradigm of psychedelic psychotherapy. The psychedelic renaissance is in full swing and now more than ever we need to carefully consider how to safely and ethically research and integrate this new paradigm into our healthcare system.

Together we will explore the history, the evidence, a clinical approach and how to integrate psychedelic experiences at multiple levels. This interactive virtual CME conference will include ample time for questions and answers and includes break-out rooms to meet fellow attendees to digest the material together. Together we will delve into the key issues facing the field today. You are welcome to join us for one or both days.

Day 1, Friday, October 25th, 2024 – Psychedelic Psychotherapy: History, Clinical Approach and the Evidence
The first day of the conference will feature a variety of Canadian and International experts in the field of psychedelic psychotherapy. Together we will explore the history of the field, how the therapy is delivered from preparation to integration and the current evidence base with a focus on risks and benefits, and pathways toward legalization for medical use.

Day 2 – Saturday, October 26th, 2026 – Integration: From Individual Healing to Collective Well-being
The second day of the conference will dive deep into the topic of integration, learning what can happen after people take psychedelics and how to best support them. We will explore the neuroscience of the integration period in the brain and why support during this period is critical. We will learn about integration challenges and tools, integration in groups and how to build resilient communities. We will end by examining how the field is grappling with honouring the Indigenous roots of psychedelic medicine.

No prior knowledge or background with psychedelic psychotherapy is necessary to attend and benefit from this educational event. The first day is intended to provide a broad overview of the field and the second day will dive deeper into the advanced topic of psychedelic integration. Members of the community and clinicians from a variety of health disciplines are encouraged to attend.

Integrating Compassion Focused Therapy into Clinical Practice

November 1, 2024

Integrating Compassion Focused Therapy into Clinical Practice

Join Bespoke Mental Health Canada on Friday November 1st 2024 at 10.00 a.m. -1.30 p.m. (PT), 1.00 p.m – 3.30 p.m. (ET) for a half day workshop delivered by Dr Paul Gilbert

Can’t attend on that date? Just book to watch it ‘on-demand’ at a time that suits you. Available to watch for one year from event (i.e., until November 1st 2025).

This half-day workshop will outline interventions and processes of training for developing compassionate mind states and competencies (Gilbert and Simos, 2020). It will provide an overview of the range of practices and interventions such as breathing practices that stimulate the vagus, a range of different visualizations and meditations, exploration of compassionate reasoning, and compassionate behaviour, some of which are guided by understanding the physiological underpinnings of caring compassion. Particularly, important is for clients to begin to understand how to create an inner sense of a secure base and safe haven that counteracts (among other things) shame and self-criticism which they can turn into when distressed and also utilize as a source of encouragement and guidance. These are related to the compassionate self, mind and the compassionate image.

Bespoke Mental Health Canada is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Participants who complete this workshop (either live or on-demand) are eligible to receive 3 CE credits.

Professionals: $100.00 CAD + tax
Students: $80.00 CAD + tax

Breaking the ADHD Code

November 1, 2024

Bespxnada
Location: Online
Contact Phone Number: (780) 702-8905
Contact E-Mail: linda@cambiumed.ca
Event Link: https://btac.cambiumed.ca/

Early Bird Discount until October 1, 2024. Registration closes October 25, 2024.

A novel, neurologically based treatment to REALLY help your clients manage symptoms of ADHDClients with ADHD often present with specific symptoms, particularly as organization problems, poor memory, or relationship challenges. Adults in particular present with a desperation to make their lives better, but as therapists we often end up “chasing symptoms”: this session we are addressing organization, next session it’s sleep, the following session it’s poor memory, the session after that it’s back to organization, then on to diet, and so on. Helping adults with ADHD on a longer term basis can be very challenging. That’s where BREAKING THE ADHD CODE comes in.

BREAKING THE ADHD CODE (BTAC) is an online course providing 6 ½ hours of pre-recorded instruction and a 7 hour live webinars, along with free ongoing follow-up classes. BTAC is a systematic, comprehensive program that has arisen out of my model of Adrenaline Addiction in ADHD, which I have been developing over two decades of treating adults with ADHD. There is a 52 minute video introduction to my approach to treating ADHD at [https://btac.cambiumed.ca].

By the end of this course, you will understand:

* Why adults with ADHD keep cycling through different challenges in the therapists office;
* How adrenaline-seeking behaviours stimulate dopamine release, and thus become addictive;
* The impact of the Adrenaline-Dopamine cycle on the lives and mental health of adults with ADHD;
* How the Adrenaline-Dopamine cycle impacts relationships;
* The role of predictable fluctuations in energy, mood and focus in many adults with ADHD;
* How to help adults with ADHD think differently about medication
* Practical, ADHD-specific strategies to address lifestyle factors, including sleep, nutrition, and self-regulation;
* And most importantly, how to use this knowledge to help your ADHD clients make real changes in their lives;

Graduates of the course will be listed on a providers page as someone who has been trained in this approach. Given some complexity in the program, graduates of the course will be able to take the live webinar a second time at no extra cost.

For more information, go to [www.btac.cambiumed.ca] or email [linda@cambiumed.ca].
